(1)原则上,在数词(除句首外,通常不用文本,而用阿拉伯数字)之后用percent,数词以外的则用percentage;不过,亦有两者不加区别而混用者,尤其是

percent(age) (of)后面所接的名词符合:

Sixty percent of the members were against his proposal.

Only a small percentage of the patients are children.

(病人中只有一小部分是儿童。)

A large percentage of the hotel's income stems from the visitors to the lake nearby.
