attribute, ascribe均指归因于、归属于或诿于某人或某事之意。

attribute: 着重于认为某事物在性质上或权力上应当适于、属于或基于某人或某物

ascribe: 着重于根据确实的证据,经推理、熟虑的结果,认为当然归于、属于、基于某人或某物
